Description:
TIP is a seven‐week residential program designed to increase the representation and active participation of underrepresented groups in the healthcare field. TIP provides a unique opportunity for these students to become equipped for what we hope is eventual matriculation into one of the programs at UTHSC.

TIP is for residents of Tennessee who wish to pursue a career in dentistry, medicine, nursing, occupational and/or physical therapy, pharmacy, or other health professions. TIP offers activities designed to assist students in realizing their career goals, as well as year‐round advice/support.

Track I – generally reserved for college freshmen and sophomores; provides a primary care internship in a clinical setting based on students’ field of interest; weekly personal and professional development workshops.

Track II – generally reserved for college juniors and seniors preparing to take their professional school admissions test; provides a complete test preparation course with content review, test‐ taking strategies, and full‐length practice tests.
