Description:
SRS is an eight‐week program designed to help exceptionally well‐qualified undergraduate students gain valuable research experience in the College of Graduate Health Sciences. Students are matched with UTHSC faculty and spend the eight weeks learning about real‐world research protocols, enhancing biomedical information and retrieval skills, and designing scientific abstracts, among other things. The program culminates with presentations by the students based on the research they worked on during the summer.

Students gain hands-on research experience in UTHSC’s dynamic research laboratories with the goal of introducing them to graduate education the biomedical sciences.

-Eight-week paid internship (June and July).

-Enhance skills in biomedical information retrieval.

-Participation scientific presentation workshop.

-Participation in scientific abstract writing workshop.

-Strengthen communication skills in biomedical sciences.

-Research Opportunities are available in: Biomedical Engineering, Epidemiology, Health Outcomes and Policy Research, Integrated Biomedical Sciences, Nursing Science, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
