Note: this opportunity encourages applications from community college students.Description: Smart Polymer Composite Materials and Structures is a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) project. Faculty from the departments of chemistry, mechanical engineering and civil engineering will mentor students.
Shape memory polymers and self-healing, materials science and analytical chemistry, composite structures and non-destructive testing, polymer synthesis and polymer composites, polymer characterization, modeling of composite materials, smart polymers.
Participants will recieve a $6,000 stipend, on campus housing, travel.
