Description:
The Summer program includes two four-week core courses; a mini-course on a selected area of mathematical research; and problem sessions aimed at preparing participants for graduate qualifying exams. The program is for any woman whose goal is to attain a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences. The four week program offers a stipend of $3,000 plus travel, room and board. Weekdays consist of classes, problem-solving workshops, guest lectures and special sessions. There is a modest research fund to which participants may apply for travel to professional meetings, books, or other research supplies. Participants are also supported to attend a reunion at the following summer’s program. Women pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research are welcome to apply.
