Academic Level: Postdoc & Early Career
Description: We are looking for individuals with a PhD in biomedical or behavioral sciences and with no previous postdoctoral experience or up to three years postdoctoral experience who would like to begin a 3-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester.
Program Highlights
A mentored research experience at the University of Rochester.
A mentored practicum teaching experience at NTID/RIT.
A Research Career Development Program that takes advantage of a well-developed Mentor-Scholar Development Program in the
Rochester Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program.
Linkages with our NIGMS supported R25 Bridges to the Doctorate for D/HH Master’s Students (also a collaboration between UR and NTID/RIT).
Training of UR mentors and lab personnel in Cross-Cultural Competency with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing persons in four Competency Attributes: (1) Cultural Knowledge, (2) Awareness, (3) Sensitivity, (4) Communication Competence (awareness and respect of communication needs, not competency in ASL).
