Academic Level:
Postdoc & Early Career

Description:
The Department of Psychiatry is one of the nation’s leaders in training the next generation of investigators in mental and behavioral health. The Department’s research interests and portfolio are broad and deep, with major programs in translational, basic science, clinical, behavioral, and health services delivery research. These programs are recognized nationally and internationally for their excellence. In carrying out their own research projects in these areas, Department faculty place special emphasis on providing research opportunities for residents and other post-graduate trainees in a wide range of subspecialties.

Research fellows often work and train side by-side within the Department’s academic units and, after completing a program, it is not uncommon for a fellow to move to another program to take best advantage of the broad spectrum of training programs available in the Department. Fellows completing the programs primarily take positions in academia, with some moving into industry.
