Are you interested in graduate school?

Are you interested in neurobiology, behavior and/or evolution?

Are you a member of an underrepresented group?

The Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY welcomes underrepresented groups in STEM considering graduate school to apply to our first annual Graduate School Diversity and Inclusion Weekend, a virtual weekend-long informational, workshop, & networking event on the graduate school application process for students from underrepresented groups & diverse social identities.

Our department values building a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable community in neurobiology and behavioral research, both within and beyond Cornell. We are an independent program initiated by the NBB Department, distinct from the existing Cornell Diversity Preview Weekend. These programs complement each other by increasing opportunity and access to different departments and research fields. Our goal for this event is to facilitate greater access to graduate school for individuals from underrepresented groups in STEM with the use of skill building exercises and strategic planning for selecting and applying to graduate programs. This event will include networking with faculty and current graduate students, workshopping application materials, and discussing the graduate school process. By making the graduate program application process more transparent, we aim to build a more inclusive environment that enhances our research and broadens representation in our current and future scientific community.
