Description: The Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) Program is funded by National Science Foundation under the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program, this program supports two-year fellowships for 12 master's and doctoral students from African American, Hispanic and/or Native American populations during the first two years of study in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects at UConn. After the initial two-year LSAMP-BD funding, fellows are supported by other funding mechanisms to ensure their timely graduation.
The BD Program targets qualifying students who intend to earn a Ph.D. within a STEM discipline in the College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Pharmacy or College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
