SPIRE-The Spin Triangle

View this Opportunity's Website

The scientific projects in SPIRE are quite broad, but will include at least the following: · Spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy projects involving cryogenic temperatures with efforts to observe and measure spin-structures at the nano and atomic length scales; · Single atom and molecule manipulation experiments also at cryogenic temperatures; · Ab-initio theoretical calculations to understand and predict how spin is manifested at the nanoscale and affects the properties of nanoscale materials
