Description:
These awards are made on a competitive basis to students enrolled at the University of North Dakota or the North Dakota State University and who wish to dedicate their time exclusively to dissertation research.

Students whose dissertation topics are in areas eligible for funding from the science, engineering, and mathematics research directorates in the National Science Foundation. All potential DDA recipients must have advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D. before they are eligible to receive a DDA award.
