Description: The Center for Informed Democracy and Social-cybersecurity at Carnegie Mellon University is interested in hiring a Post-Doc. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Kathleen M. Carley and her team assessing foreign adversary activity in elections across the globe. This will involve processing huge data sets of social media data from multiple platforms, utilizing ORA for network analytics and the BEND tools for influence campaigns. Other activities to include: network analysis of influence campaigns, writing up research results in papers for publication, attendance at and presentation in group meetings, and working with undergraduates and master's students. Location: Pittsburgh, PA.
Qualifications: Must have a PhD in Computer Science or related field.
Required Skills:Familiarity with social network analysis, Familiarity with basic statistics - such as regression, and contingency tables, Excellent ability to write in English, Previously published research paper.
Desired Skills: Ability to program in Python, Experience working with a terabyte of data. Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, or YouTube data.
