Description:
Arizona State University’s School for the Future of Innovation in Society continues their initiative in the areas of justice, equity, diversity, inclusion (JEDI) in science, technology, and innovation. We currently have full funding (4 years) for a PhD student through the Presidential Graduate Assistantship Program, which aims to fund historically disenfranchised PhD students. The PhD student’s program of study will be in the Innovation and Global Development PhD Program.

Successful candidates should have an interest in some of the following topics:

• Understandings of borders as they relate to innovation and development

• The terms “innovation” and “development” and how they are deployed in the global world

• The relationships between Indigenous/ First Nations and global development

• The role of decolonization in innovation and global development

• Racial justice in the global world

• Technology and culture

• Digital media making

• Community engagement

• Participatory design
