REU positions are for ten weeks, 40 hours per week, for current undergraduates in physics, chemistry, materials engineering, applied math, astrophysics. Projects involve working with a team of scientists in a computational, theoretical or experimental research project depending on your interests and availability. Topics span all of physics from condensed matter and nanoscale materials, to atomic physics, to particle astrophysics and gravitational wave. Projects in nanoscale materials also span chemistry and engineering topics. Summer activities include K-12 outreach, social gatherings, hands-on activities, and an end-of summer research symposium where you share your accomplishments.
REU includes a $6000 stipend, housing and some travel expense reimbursement.
