The University of Pittsburgh Department of Biological Sciences (www.biology.pitt.edu/)
. offers training experiences in all areas of modern biology (biochemistry, cell and developmental biology, computational and structural biology, genetics, microbiology, ecology and evolution, and science education) in a highly supportive environment.
. works one-on-one with each fellow to develop a course of study and research training customized to fit their individual needs and objectives. Depending on the fellow, this may involve a combination of hands-on experience in one or more research labs, foundational coursework, professional skill development, and networking experiences.
. provides individualized mentoring committee that advise and benchmark each fellow's progress through the program. The fellows have close interactions with faculty, advisors and peers, as well as become integral members of our graduate training community.
Fellows in the HMBP receive a stipend for living expenses, tuition and fees, and health care coverage during their tenure in the program.
