About us
With over 145 graduate degree programs, more than 60 graduate student organizations, and over 70 research, centers, institutes, and core facilities to support your graduate education, we have several options for your academic training. We also promote students’ growth through professional development series, gradESSENTIALS, and personal support through the Center for Inclusive Excellence in Graduate Education.
Our faculty is committed to supporting diverse ideas and perspectives and disciplinary and interdisciplinary work. Besides, our campus community does not shy away from challenges and change. Our graduate students are involved in teaching, research, service, community engagement, and professional development. We hope that you will be one of those students.
TigerView provides you with two days of learning and exploration. It is an opportunity for us to know more about you and for you to know more about Mizzou. I believe that is the only way to make an informed decision about your graduate education.
TigerView is more than a visit; it is preparation for your graduate school application. The program prepares you to apply to any graduate school and to explore all that Mizzou has to offer. During the visit, you will:
1. Receive information about the opportunities for research and academic growth available to students at MU, a leading research university;
2. Have opportunities to network with current faculty, administrators, graduate students, and staff in your program of interest;
3. Participate in workshops about different aspects of the graduate school application process (e.g., the admissions process, funding sources, personal statement, and more);
4. Enjoy walking around campus, dining at different local restaurants, and having a private visit with your program of interest.
The Graduate School pays all costs associated with official events of the visit (i.e., travel, lodging, tours, and meals in Columbia). Participation in the program does not guarantee acceptance into the graduate degree program in which one is interested.
Members of racial or ethnic groups underrepresented in graduate education (i.e., Black/African Americans, American Indians, Alaska Native, Hispanic/Latinx, or Native Pacific Islander) are strongly encouraged to apply. First-generation college students (including Ronald E. McNair Scholars) are strongly encouraged to apply.
