1) Diversity Fellowships: We're seeking the next generation of leaders from under-represented groups. Two outstanding applicants will receive graduate assistantships with support from the Fralin Life Sciences Institute and Virginia Tech Graduate School. Fellows will enroll in a degree-granting program as well as the Interfaces of Global Change IGEP. Open to incoming first-year PhD students.
2) Rural Environmental Health T32 Program: Calling all PhD students passionate about environmental health in rural settings! This competitive program offers specialized training in environmental health sciences, emphasizing applications in rural settings. Trainees will complete unique rural environmental health training, in addition to enrolling in the Interface of Global Change IGEP. REH T32 participants will receive assistantship and tuition support for their first two years of the program. The REH T32 Program will admit two students, and applications are open to both incoming first-year PhD students and current PhD students. The NIH T32 has restricted citizenship eligibility. Only U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals, and permanent U.S. residents may be appointed to a T32. Trainees who do not have this status must have a valid Alien Registration Receipt Card. Send a notarized statement verifying permanent residency status. Anyone on a temporary or student visa is not eligible.
