Description:
STREAMS is an out-of-school time program for girls that integrates Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics with Scuba and Scientific diving. Participants learn about and build various underwater remotely operated vehicle recorders (ROVR) to explore diverse marine ecosystems.

The STREAMS program is designed to introduce youth to a multitude of activities that integrate Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics with SCUBA (STREAMS) curriculum. This program focuses primarily on three of the nine core technologies (i.e., structural, mechanical and electrical) with some exposure to optical, biotechnical, thermal and fluid technologies and how they integrate to create the Sea Perch. Program participants will build underwater remote operate vehicles with video recording capabilities. Using the device, participants will have an opportunity to engage in introductory underwater archeology and study the biodiversity of ecosystems, such as reef behavior.
