Description:
The North Carolina State Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD) Program is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The program promotes a diverse biomedical and behavioral science workforce by providing professional, academic and social support to graduate and undergraduate students who are typically underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral research arenas.

We foster a positive, exploratory environment where students can bring critical social and cultural perspectives to advance knowledge and create treatments or technology. Our goal is to encourage students to ultimately become faculty researchers of this and the next generation.
