Summer research opportunities for undergraduates

Description: This is a new program funded by the National Science Foundation Division of Materials Research with additional support from Case. Pending the availability of funding, the program will support a research program for eight to ten undergraduates from outside Case. Each student will be mentored by a physics faculty member on an individual research project designed especially for an undergraduate. In addition to being engaged in individual research, REU students will participate in weekly discussion meetings, professional skills development workshops, a workshop on ethical issues in science, an end-of-the-summer poster symposium, and other professional and social networking activities for undergraduate summer researchers.
