About us
With the support of the REM supplement, we have developed a streamlined program to mentor college students from various disadvantaged backgrounds through hands-on experiential learning, and provide career development opportunities. This opportunity is open to all undergraduates who have not yet had any lab or research experiences. We welcome applications from students with the following backgrounds: LGBTQIA+, minority, women, economically disadvantaged, veterans, K-12 teachers, and disabled individuals.
Our NSF EFRI REM mentorship program is in the third year, and we aim mentor new generation of engineers and scientists, who can effectively meet the challenges of increasingly complex additive manufacturing processes. Our expectation for the REM program is that our mentees (or research participants, or RP) will be the future successful STEM professionals and become role models for the next generations. The students in the REM program will have several choices of research projects based on their interests. Details for projects are on our website.
All REM mentees will receive a stipend, housing and meal plan on the UM campus.
