Assessing Change in Coastal EcosystemsUniversity of Rhode Island
Kingston, RIAfter completing my B.A. in Economics at Framingham State College, I lived and worked just outside of Boston, MA, where I was employed as a Quantitative Analyst. As a Quantitative Analyst I created and updated insurance probability models, which were used as tools to determine settlement ranges for large loss environmental claims. After two years of working in the insurance industry, I decided it was time to return to the classroom and so I enrolled at the University of Connecticut, where I worked as a teaching assistant and completed my M.A. in Economics. This past summer I had a blast living and working at MIT/Wellesley's Upward Bound Program as a residential teaching assistant for a great group of 11th and 12th Grade Pre-Calculus and Algebra II/Trigonometry students from Cambridge, MA, who found new and interesting ways to challenge me each and everyday I spent with them. Currently, I am very fortunate and thrilled to be a Ph.D. student in the Department of Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, a Coastal Institute IGERT Fellow, and to be residing just a few blocks from the beach. In my treasured free time there are many activities I take great pleasure in. To name just a few, I enjoy: cooking, running, spending time with friends and family, reading, camping, hiking, canoeing, photography and traveling.
