Dr. Song is an associate professor of mathematics at Iowa State. He attended the Ohio State University in Columbus, and received M.S. in 1983 and Ph.D. in 1987 in Mathematics. After working as a visiting lecturer for a year at the OSU, he came to Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, where he is still lodged. He was born in Korea. He graduated from Seoul National University in 1974 with B.S. in Mathematics Education. After serving for three and a half years in Korean Navy, he returned to SNU and completed M.Ed. in Mathematics Education in 1980 before he moved to the United States. He loves his profession, and especially enjoys working with students who like to do mathematics. He considers himself blessed to have the opportunity to teach the bright and hardworking students he has had over the 22 years he has been with ISU. He has mentored many undergraduate researchers in the ISU Mathematics REU.
