I received my undergraduate education in Ecology and Evolution at the University of California- Santa Cruz. After graduating, however, I deviated from the laboratory/field science I was trained in and took an environmental policy job at a nonprofit conservation organization. This experience influenced my goal of participating in the science that influences environmental policy.
