Juan Ortiz-Navarro

Dr. Juan Ortiz-Navarro obtained his major in Computational Mathematics at University of Puerto Rico – Humacao. In 2007, he obtained his PhD in Pure Math from the University of Iowa. He went on to work as a Visiting Assistant Professor at The University of Rochester from July 2007 until June 2009. Since July 2009, he has been working as an Assistant Professor at UPRM.

His current research interests are in Low Dimensional Topology, Quantum Topology and Knot Theory. He works combining Khovanov homology and Reidemeister torsion to understand better the algebraic invariants of knots and links.
