I study kinship in the Himalayas. I conducted ethnographic research on courtship and marriage patterns in Kathmandu, Nepal, where most marriages are arranged. In Sikkim, India I will continue to work with Himalayan families and address questions about parenting, grandparenting and reproductive choices. My work explores psychocultural processes that may be linked to wider demographic rends in South Asia.
