Laurie Manderino

Sustainable Urban Infrastructure
University of Colorado, Denver


Ms. Manderino holds an M.S. in finance from the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center and an undergraduate degree in business administration and management. She worked for thirteen years as a consultant in environmental policy and finance, serving both government and private sector clients. Recently, she spent 5 years managing local development projects in Africa, first as an Assistant Country Director for the Peace Corps in Benin, and later to establish an HIV/AIDS project in Rwanda. Her research interests include the linkages among policy development, financial incentives, and community outreach programs in achieving sustainable urban development goals. This includes the relative importance of economic incentives vs. community education in changing consumer behaviors.
