Erika Lentz

Assessing Change in Coastal Ecosystems
University of Rhode Island
Kingston, RI

Erika Lentz is returning to her native New England after years away exploring big cities and big sky. Beginning her undergraduate career as a sociology major in New York City, Erika discovered an interest in geology and the environment on an earth semester at the Biosphere 2 Center in Arizona. The next few years provided her time to cultivate both passions and explore more of the southwestern U.S., coastal California, Baja, Mexico, and Washington D.C. Now in Rhode Island and beginning a geological oceanography program at URI, Erika looks forward to continuing her interest in bringing together the social and natural sciences in decision-making processes. An avid fan of the outdoors, Erika enjoys cycling, hiking, rock-climbing, sailing, and kayaking, as well as painting and drawing in her free time. Interested in learning more?
