I am an assistant professor in the Mathematics Department. My chief area of interest is the education of teachers of mathematics. I did my Ph.D. research in partial differential equations, in particular, studying the wave equation in multiple dimensions and in different domains. After I finished graduate school, I worked as a cryptologic mathematician for the National Security Agency. Before I settled into math as my occupation, I worked at the Mayo Clinic in endocrinology research, studying how bone cells are regulated.
