Marine Biodiversity: Understanding Threats & Providing Solutions IGERTUniversity of California, San Diego, Scripps Institution of Oceanography
I am a second year student in the Biological Oceanography curricular group. Generally, I am interested in fisheries oceanography and conservation. My thesis topic is still in the early stages of development, but I anticipate that it will focus on the relationship between environmental variability and fisheries and the consequences for management. For example, I am interested in investigating temporal and spatial fluctuations in Northern anchovy and Pacific sardine populations, and the potential for pelagic marine reserves.
