I am interested in the evolutionary psychology of close relationships, romantic love, mating strategies, and sexuality; as well as the evolutionary origins of music, humor, gesturing, and of just about anything else. I am currently working on two primary projects. First, I am collaborating with Dr. Gian Gonzaga and Martie Haselton on research aimed at showing that love functions as a device that keeps romantic partners committed to each other in the face of attractive alternatives. The second project is my master's thesis, which explores the nature and possible origins of individual and sex differences in falling in passionate romantic love.
