Sustainable Urban Infrastructure
University of Colorado, Denver

Andrew joined the IGERT program while working toward an MA in Anthropology at the University of Colorado at Denver, having previously earned a BA in Art from the University of Wyoming. He is currently a first year PhD student in Health and Behavioral Sciences. A former Peace Corps volunteer in Kyrgyzstan who worked to establish Internet infrastructure, Andrew recently conducted research of sustainable agricultural practices in the remote Amazon rainforest of Ecuador. His intended research focus is in sustainable urban transportation, including the use of bicycles as utility and inter-modal transportation. Andrew is particularly interested in the role of the bicycle in relation to public health, reduction of carbon emissions, economics and planning in the built environment.
