Ethan Coon

Applied Mathematics and Earth & Environmental Sciences IGERT
Columbia University
New York, NY

Ethan Coon is a graduate student in the Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics department. He is interested in mathematical modeling and fluid dynamics, specifically the modeling of geophysical fluid processes of the Earth. Currently he is working on understanding the viscoelastic properties of porous media such as the liquid-solid interactions that occur in the extreme temperatures and pressures under the surface of the Earth.

When he's not cudgeling his brain, trying to figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, Ethan is usually playing soccer, climbing big rocks, getting out into the wilderness, or spending quality time with quality people.
